Why do I need SOC.GOLF?
We aim to make it as easy as possible to manage your golf society, and to encourage members to participate. You have complete control over your members, events and information, all of which is in a customisable and easily viewable format for both members and committee alike.
By simplifying this process for you, we remove overheads and allow your society to focus on what matters - playing golf!

Is there a free trial?
Yes — every society starts with a 30-day free trial, and no card details are needed to begin. If it isn't for you, there's nothing to cancel: access simply lapses at the end of the trial.
Do all members need to pay?
No. You pay one flat annual fee for the whole society — £39 a year on Birdie, £79 on Eagle — not a price per member, so the cost doesn't change as your society grows.
Your members never pay SOC.GOLF anything and don't need a card to take part. (If your society collects its own annual subs or charges an entry fee per event, you can track both in the app and see at a glance who has paid — that money goes straight to your society, not to us.)
What handicap system do you use?
SOC.GOLF doesn't calculate handicaps itself — you record each member's handicap index (from whatever system your society already uses, including the World Handicap System), and we apply it automatically to net scores and leaderboards as results are entered.
How do I access / use my member area?
Members sign in at app.soc.golf - from home, work, or out on the course - to view society news, events and results. Only designated administrators can update society information. No technical knowledge is needed!
Eagle societies can also publish a public society page at their own custom URL (yourname.soc.golf) — showing upcoming events, results and more, viewable by anyone without a login. Have a look at a live example: demo.soc.golf.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes — SOC.GOLF is a web app, so there's nothing to download and no app store to visit. Open app.soc.golf in Safari, Chrome or whatever browser you already use, on any phone or tablet.
Every page is laid out for a small screen first: members can sign up for events, check the fixture list, look up a handicap or view the leaderboard from the car park or the 18th green. Admins can do the lot from a phone too — create an event, send a notice or enter results without going near a laptop.
Add it to your home screen and it opens like any other app. Public society pages are mobile-friendly in exactly the same way, so anyone you share your society's link with sees it looking right on their phone.
How long does setup take?
Your society area is ready within minutes of registration - create your society, invite your members, and you're away.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you don't wish to subscribe after the 30-day free trial, there is nothing to do - access simply lapses at the end of the trial.
Paid plans run to the end of the year you have paid for: if you cancel, access continues until your renewal date and no further payments are taken. We do not offer refunds for the remainder of an in-progress period.
